Mr. Kassoum Coulibaly is an economist, a strategic advisor, a
human rights and pan-Africanism activist, an intellectual and
social entrepreneur motivated and committed for global economic
progress, global sustainable development, and the promotion of
universal peace with over 25 years of working experience with
youth and women in Africa and around the world. He now dedicates
his entire life to the promotion and protection of human rights
and women's and girls' rights in particular, health, education,
entrepreneurship, gender equality, and women's empowerment,
prevention and response to gender-based violence (GBV), and child
protection through the engagement of men and boys worldwide.
Mr. Kassoum Coulibaly is the Co-Founder and President of the
Groupe du Développement de l’Afrique (GDA), the Afrika Global
Gender Academy (AGGA), and the Observatoire des Violences Basées
sur le Genre (OVBGA). He is a member of the MenEngage Global
Alliance, National Coordinator of the MenEngage Network Mali, and
former Vice-President of the Steering Committee of the MenEngage
Africa Alliance. He is also a member of the UN Women’s HeForShe
Initiative and Co-Founder of the Alliance for Positive Masculinity
in Africa (AMPA), the African Mining Alliance (AMA), the Alliance
for African Renaissance (ARA), and the African Youth Center (CAJ).
Since 2020, Mr. Kassoum Coulibaly is also an Expert Member of the
World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
He has worked and continues to work as an International Expert
with several cooperation agencies, national and international
NGOs, and United Nations and International Organizations such as
UN Women, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDP, UN Volunteers Programme,
UNCTAD, the CONFEJ ES, the International Council for Small
Business (ICSB), HELVETAS Switzerland, Lux-Development, CECI
Canada, the Canadian and Malian Red Cross, in Mali, Africa, and
worldwide. He has been a very active member of renowned global
youth organizations such as the International Association of
Students in Economics and Commerce (AIESEC International) and
Junior Chamber International (JCI), where he held leadership
positions. As an Economic Freedom Fighter in Africa (CLEA), Mr.
Coulibaly has also been supporting the promotion of economic,
social, and cultural entrepreneurship for more than ten (10) years
in youth and women's organizations in the fields of Agriculture,
Crafts, Industry, Commerce, etc... through information and
communication, education and training, technical assistance and
consulting, studies, and research.
In 2011-2012, Mr. Kassoum Coulibaly served as the Economic and
Commercial Counselor for Africa at the Sichuan Supplier Chamber of
Commerce (SSCC) in the People's Republic of China and continues to
contribute to the development of economic, social, and cultural
relations between Africa and China. In 2015-2016, he was selected
as one of UN Women's Global Champions for Women's Economic
Empowerment (WEE), where he demonstrated his ability to support
rural women entrepreneurs. In 2016-2017, he was one of the mentors
of UN Women's program for women's economic empowerment within the
Business Development Group (BDG). In 2018, he joined the Side by
Side Movement for Gender Justice as a key member of its national
steering committee in Mali, the sub-regional steering committee in
West Africa, and the global steering committee in the United
Kingdom. In 2019, he was appointed as a Member and Reporter of the
Advisory Council of Civil Society (ACCS) of UN Women in Mali. In
2020, he coordinated the Support Program for the Development of
Small and Medium Enterprises (PAD-PME) in Mali.
Mr. Kassoum Coulibaly holds a Diploma of General University
Studies (DEUG) in Economics and Development from the University of
Bouaké (Côte d'Ivoire), as well as a Bachelor's and Master's
degree in Management Sciences from the University of Bamako (Mali)
in 2000. He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights
(Specializing in Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights) from the
Henry Dunant University Center (CUHD) in Geneva, Switzerland, in
2008, a Certificate in Mining Policy and Contract Negotiation from
the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in South Africa in 2013, and a
Certificate in Business and Human Rights in 2016, and a Higher
Certificate in Human Rights on the role of men and boys in
achieving gender equality and women's empowerment (Positive
Masculinities) in 2018 at the University of Pretoria (UP) in South
Africa. Finally, he obtained in 2020, the prestigious
International GenderPro Certificate from the Global Women's
Institute (GWI) at the George Washington University (GWU) in the
United States of America (USA).
Mr. Kassoum Coulibaly speaks, reads, and writes fluently in
Bamanankan, French, and English.
